After School Clubs
At the end of a school day many children need some time to run around, feel free and have some ways to express themselves. Outdoors is the perfect environment to be creative and engage in teamwork in a healthy, nurturing and natural setting. Children learn new skills which they build on each week promoting self-awareness, confidence and competence.
Within structured activities children are empowered to make their own choices, work independently or in a team and learn practical skills.
Some of the benefits of Forest School education are:
• Creating independence
• Improving focus
• Building confidence and self esteem
• Enhancing social skills
• Increasing teamwork ability
• Developing connection to a healthy lifestyle
We provide any resources which cannot be found on site including safety gloves and all necessary tools to create a range of interesting and individual natural items. We encourage children to use sticks, leaves and petals and utilise children’s natural creativity and curiosity in equal measure while they learn and play.
Our staff ratios are much higher than other clubs as safeguarding children is our primary responsibility. We recognise children need to have a snack and use the cloakroom before the session begins which is why our after-school clubs run for 90 minutes. Children will have a full hour of forest activities as well as time to refuel when they need.
We provide 1:8 teacher to child ratio to maximise our engagement with every child and increase the benefits they receive from this rich learning environment. All our teachers have an up to date DBS, forest school training, and are passionate about learning in the natural environment. We use high quality and age-appropriate tools and encourage the children to gain confidence in trying out new things to build new skills and have fun at the same time.
DURATION: 90 MINUTES
